Good Samaritan Inn helps women, children and young people experiencing family violence by providing safe, crisis and transitional accommodation and practical support.

All family violence is harmful. It includes physical, sexual and verbal and emotional abuse.

Everybody reacts differently to the trauma of family violence. Common issues include:

  • Having trouble concentrating
  • Feeling in a constant state of anxiety
  • Not sleeping well
  • Finding it difficult to make decisions.

Children may become withdrawn, angry or anxious and behave in ways that are not usual for them.
These are all normal reactions. If you are experiencing family violence, it’s important to remember that help is available.
